2027: Dead on arrival — APM reacts to Tinubu’s campaign council

The Allied Peoples’ Movement, APM, has described the setting up of President Bola Tinubu’s Campaign Council as “dead on arrival”.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, said this in a statement on Saturday.

The APM described the council as a reflection of the alleged declining popularity of the Tinubu administration and its inability to attract credible politicians capable of securing broad public support.

The party particularly slammed the appointment of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul-Aziz Yari as Director-General of the campaign council.

According to the party, Yari’s administration was characterised by worsening insecurity and poor living conditions in Zamfara State, arguing that his appointment did not strengthen Tinubu’s electoral prospects.

“If, after three and a half years in power, President Tinubu could not garner the capacity to assemble a credible team, then it is clear that, indeed, he has no business being in charge of a nation as complex and demanding as Nigeria. The presidential council is dead on arrival,” Yusuf said.

The party equally described members of the campaign council as “known political sycophants, inconsistent characters and ideological turncoats.”
