In three seasons at Dallas Baptist, the younger Pettitte pitched in 17 games. He posted a 5-2 record with a 3.19 ERA, striking out 56 batters over 48 innings. Pettitte got the chance to hit at DBU in his final collegiate season. He hit .341 with 16 home runs and 48 RBI in 186 plate appearances last season.

The elder Pettitte spent 18 seasons in MLB between the Yankees and the Houston Astros. The southpaw amassed a career 256-153 record with a 3.85 ERA. Pettitte was a three-time All-Star and won five World Series with New York.

Luke will already have some bragging rights over his father. Andy was selected in the 22nd round of the 1990 MLB Draft, while his son was taken in the eighth.

One main difference is that Andy opted to join the Yankees farm system right out of high school, while his son played three years at DBU.
