2 Colts players fined by NFL for plays v. Vikings, including the kicker
Two Indianapolis Colts players were fined following plays in last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Kicker Spencer Shrader was fined for tripping on the opening kickoff, according to Mike Chappell. On the actual play, no flag was thrown.
Shrader was fined $7,639 for the play.
Chappell also reports that cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was fined $7,791 for leading with his helmet on a play.
Per the NFL rules and operations site, players receive a letter from the league informing them of what they did, along with a video of the play, why they are being fined, and how much it will cost them.
“The NFL uses the fine schedule to outline the league’s and the union’s expectations for players to conduct themselves in a way that honors the sport and respects the game, themselves, their fellow players, the fans and the league. The rules are intended to protect the players from unnecessary risk, promote player safety and emphasize sportsmanship and respect of teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and fans.”

Players can appeal the fines if they choose.
