The Wisconsin Badgers were patiently waiting for Decelise Champion’s debut, and it sure was worth the wait.

The 16-year-old sensation was originally set to join the Badgers next year, but she was able to reclassify and head to Madison for the 2026 season.

Despite missing the team’s first six matches, she made her team debut in the Badgers’ 3-2 win vs. No. 19 Texas A&M in a night she’ll never forget.

The Aggies hosted their third-largest crowd in program history, and those near 10,000 fans witnessed Champion make an immediate impact in the second set.

Wisconsin trailed 1-0, but Champion came into the match late in the second set and helped the Badgers take that one, 25-23.

Champion, who will turn 17 next week, was second on the team with eight blocks and third with eight kills.

The 6-foot-6 Puerto Rican native had a .192 hitting percentage, which was just under the Badgers’ .219 mark as a team.
